Wednesday Wedding Slump

I have to be honest. I am a little overwhelmed today. I am looking at my To Do list and budget and am just at the point of what do I do today. As excited as I am about this time in my life, I am at a loss today at where to begin with the wedding planning. What do I do next. I feel like I am all over the place, being very Wedding Planning ADD. As soon as something pops in my head, I run with it and I feel I am leaving other things on the bottom of the list when they should be further up on the list.

HELP! Where should I go from here?????? Has anyone else felt this way? Am I totally loosing my mind? Is it weird for a day, I might just not want to talk weddings? Then I feel guilty, because I am the luckiest girl in the world. Engaged, bought a house, dad beat cancer, probably getting a dog in July which I am so excited about, and not to mention my wedding is in one of the most beautiful places I could possibly think of. What is my problem!!??

Okay now that I just whined, I can get back to reality! I had a slow day at work, at the school where I work, I am running the standardized testing which is going on for two very stressful weeks. You wouldn't think this is a big deal oh yes it is. So I very much enjoyed reading everyone's blogs today. I was extremely behind. You all give me such great inspiration, feeding my ADD. :)

Until next time....AmazingFabulousWedding@gmail.com

  1. I had a few days like that myself! Actually the closer the wedding date comes... I kind of feel like it more and more. It's not that I'm not excited... it's just that I'm overwhelmed.

I would take things one day at a time. Research is your best friend. Make inspiration folders on your computer - I made one for food, decorations, ceremonies, receptions, photography. Everything. You don't want to feel like you've forgotten something... so copy and saving will be your best friend.

Since you have some time til December 2012 (that's your wedding right?!) try to make as many contacts with places in Aruba as you can. That's the biggest thing! Once you have the place you're getting married and have a point person there at the hotel (which I think I would feel most comfortable with other than a person who may not be familiar with the hotel) then other things will fall into place. I'm sure the hotel can refer you to people that can marry you, photographers, they probably have certain rules about catering/food... so things that like will come together more easily. ;)

try not to stress! ;) and when you do... don't feel bad about it!

  2. I'm sorry you are having such a rough time. I've never been engaged or married but I can imagine that the wedding planning becomes totally overwhelming. Just hang in there!!! Have fun with all those tests, I must admit- when I was in high school taking them, I never once thought about how bored the teachers were.

  3. Girl it definitely happens. A wedding is pretty much the biggest thing in your life until one of your own kids gets married so therefore a huge stressor. But as long as your fiance is supportive and loves you, everything works out. ;)

When I had a month to go, I had a compelte meltdown. And thanks to my amazing family, and my fiance I got through it and then I didn't stress as much ;)

Just keep pluggin through girl! You'll make it!

  5. I definitely feel you on the wedding ADD! I jump from project to project all the time without really completing anything. There are whole weeks where I don't feel like talking or doing anything for the wedding. I am not a huge fan of the message boards but I like theknot.com's check list. It is very satisfying to check things off and have it disappear! Hang in there!

  6. I feel the same way. I really haven't done a thing and the Mr. keeps asking me what we need to do and I just shrug...it is overwhelming. I can tell you that maybe you should ask for help...but sometimes that just makes others in control...so either way it is a headache. Good luck!

  7. Its definitely overwhelming because you have so many ideas in your head but honestly you just have to take one or two things at a time to focus on or else you will be SO overwhelmed. Print out a list online or sign up for the wedding wire or the knot because they give you a time line by month of when things need to be done by. Then that gives you a way to space things out. I was like that at first too but now once I started crossing things off I have some time to breath!!
